Cut Flower Garden Planner

Plan your cutting garden from seed to bouquet: frost dates, crop plans, a succession sowing tracker, bed maps and a harvest log. 13 pages to print at home.

Download the planner (PDF)

This is the planner we use at Knollwood every winter, before a single seed is sown. Print it, fill it in with a pencil, and keep it by the door all season.

What's inside

  • Your frost dates and a seed-starting calculator that counts back from them.
  • Crop planning sheets for every flower you want to grow: how many plants, where they'll go, and when.
  • A succession sowing tracker, so the zinnias and cosmos keep coming all summer instead of all at once.
  • Bed plan grids to sketch your rows and blocks.
  • A harvest log to see what really produced, and what to grow more of next year.

How to use it

  1. Start with your average last frost. Everything else counts back from it.
  2. List what you want to grow, then fill a crop sheet for each.
  3. Sketch your beds, tallest at the back.
  4. Through the season, jot down sowings and harvests. Next winter, it's your best guide.
