The Knollwood Tuber Collection
TUBERS
Spring 2027 · Waitlist open
The tuber drop opens in
Grown in our field in Moultonborough, dug by hand each October, divided, labeled and stored through the New Hampshire winter — ready for your garden in spring.
From the field at Knollwood
Every tuber is one we grew, dug and divided ourselves.
Each one comes from a plant that bloomed in our rows this season. We check every division for a healthy eye, label it true to name, and keep them cool and dry until spring. Small batches, careful hands, and a lot of dahlias we love.

Questions
Good to know
What exactly am I getting?
One divided dahlia tuber per unit: a single storage root attached to a piece of the crown with at least one visible eye (the bud that becomes your plant). Tuber size varies a lot by variety. Size doesn't predict how well it grows; the eye does.
When will my tubers arrive?
We ship in spring, in April and May, once nights are warm enough that tubers won't freeze on the way. Pickup orders are ready at our farmstand in May. We'll email you before anything ships.
Where do you ship?
We ship within the contiguous United States. We can't ship to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, and a few states restrict plant shipments. If yours does, we'll let you know before you're charged.
Why is there a limit on some varieties?
Some varieties come from just one or two plants. Varieties marked Limit are capped at 2 per customer so more gardens get to grow them.
What's a mystery tuber?
A healthy division from our field whose tag went missing. It's a surprise until it blooms, and it's priced to make the gamble fun.
How do I store tubers before planting?
Keep them somewhere cool, dark and frost-free (around 40–50°F) until your soil warms in late spring. Plant them about 4–6 inches deep, eye facing up, after your last frost.
